Edgar Allan Poe Theatrical Reading
Enjoy a night of Edgar Allan Poe classics, dramatically performed in different rooms of Historic Pleasant Home by the talented Kevin Bry and Michael Bassett. Guests will be treated to theatrical readings of The Black Cat, The Raven, and The Oval Portrait. The evening will also include the debut presentation of The Lamentation of Miss Nellie, a short narrative commissioned by Pleasant Home Foundation and written by Oak Park author Mary Grace Bertulfo. Bertulfo's story is a fictional account based on the actual tragic death of Nellie Sugrue at Pleasant Home in 1913. There will be a short intermission with wine and cheese.
