Bio:
Jake Bucher is the Founding Dean for the College of Applied Social Sciences at Dominican University.
After serving in the military, Jake earned a Master in Criminology from the University of Memphis, and a Master in Sociology and PhD in Sociology from Emory University. He later served as faculty at Baker University, Chair of the Criminal Justice Program, and as the Dean of the School of Professional and Graduate Studies at Baker.
Jake and his wife Carrie moved to Oak Park in 2017, their children Gus and Eleanor are proud Wildcats at Whittier Elementary. Jake holds a belief that institutions of higher education bear a responsibility to the communities they are in, specifically in terms of support and partnership with local businesses, social service organizations, and other village efforts.
