Ribbon Cuttings

The Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce coordinates ribbon-cutting ceremonies on behalf of its members who are celebrating a grand opening, a major renovation, an expansion, or a significant anniversary. 

Ribbon cuttings generally take place Monday-Friday, and provide an opportunity to welcome and connect with a new business, network with other attendees, and celebrate our growing business community. They are typically indoor-outdoor events, with some indoor networking but the photos taking place outdoors, so dress for the weather and if you're avoiding indoor events for health reasons, check to see if part of the event you're looking at will take place outside. 

Ribbon Cuttings are a Member Benefit

Chamber members are eligible for one ribbon cutting per year, given an appropriate occasion for the ceremony.

Membership ribbon cutting package includes:

 * Advance Promotion: via newsletter - website - email invitations - Twitter - Facebook.

 * Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: featuring giant scissors - ceremonial sashes - commemorative certificate.

 * Post-Ceremony Publicity: photos posted to Facebook - photos posted to web gallery - email thank you to Chamber attendees.

The Premium Ribbon Cutting package ($150) includes all of the above, but adds:

 * Half-page advertisement in our local Wednesday Journal newspaper with business address, web site, phone number, and ceremony photos (discounted some 70% off the rack rate!).
