Bio:
Brian Dubina recently joined Oak Park and River Forest High School (OPRFHS) as the Pre-Vocational Education Coordinator. His role is supporting students in pursuing their career goals after high school. College doesn’t have to be the only pathway to a career, and Brian helps students explore those options. He also coordinates opportunities for students with disabilities to gain work experiences in the local community.
Prior to joining OPRFHS, Brian was a teacher in self-contained special education classrooms for over a decade. He specialized in working with students with autism spectrum disorders, having taught in an autism-specific classroom for four years and earning a master’s degree focused on instruction for individuals with autism.
Outside of the classroom, Brian always finds ways to keep moving. As if raising two children with his husband weren’t enough, Brian also dabbles in various hobbies including backpacking, kayaking, crocheting, cooking, running, golfing, and starting home projects that never get completed. If it’s cold outside, you can bet there is a fire roaring in his fireplace at home in LaGrange Park, IL. Brian is extremely excited to bring his energy and enthusiasm to the Oak Park and River Forest community and can’t wait to see what 2023 has to offer.
