Calling all young entrepreneurs! Join the OPRF Chamber’s FLEX group (formerly Young Professionals) for our Stand Out & Speed Networking event at Kribi Coffee! At this event we will be talking about being the youngest person in the room at work and how to own it! We will hear from the Chamber Executive Director Darien Marion-Burton who will share personal experiences, insights, and strategies on how to make an impact as a young entrepreneur.

Darien Marion-Burton, Executive Director

Darien Marion-Burton is a dynamic leader and community advocate with a passion for fostering business growth and inclusivity. As the Executive Director of the Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce, Darien is dedicated to advancing the prosperity of local businesses through strategic initiatives, innovative programming, and collaborative partnerships. Under his leadership, the Chamber has expanded its membership, strengthened ties with local governments, and launched impactful events like "Out in the Burbs," a celebration of LGBTQ+ pride, and the annual Halloween Trivia Night.

With a strong background in strategic planning and community engagement, Darien spearheaded the development of the Chamber's 2024-2035 Strategic Plan, focusing on educational empowerment, business growth, and resource accessibility. He has also led efforts to strengthen the Chamber’s relationships with local, state, and county governments, enhance community membership, and promote economic development.

Beyond his work with the Chamber, Darien is actively involved with the Center on Halsted Auxiliary Board, where he serves as Chair, and is committed to supporting LGBTQ+ initiatives. His leadership has earned him a reputation as a forward-thinking, inclusive, and results-driven leader who is passionate about making a positive impact in the communities he serves.
