It Takes A Village - Free Support for Families of Color

Smart Love Family Services welcomes families on the West Side and in the greater Oak Park area to be part of It Takes A Village, a free-of-charge program for parents and children of color that is uniquely tailored to fit their needs. Smart Love?s dedicated professionals lead the Group meetings, providing a caring, confidential, and non-judgmental environment for parents and children to share their experiences, ask questions, and express their hopes. This great resource supports parents in addressing the challenges that impact their families and their children?s behavior and emotions, along with factors that affect self-regard and success at school, home, and in life. Participants are encouraged to learn from one another and share with Smart Love staff, whether they simply come and listen?or actively participate in discussions and connect with their peers.
