About Us

Founded in 1961, Alcuin Montessori is one of the oldest Montessori schools in the country and the first Montessori school in Illinois. The only school in the Western Suburbs dually accredited by the American Montessori Society and the Independent Schools Association of the Central States, Alcuin's programs are designed to help each child become confident, curious, self-disciplined, and motivated.

Alcuin empowers children's inherent love of learning, inspiring and challenging each child to engage with the world as an independent thinker, creative problem solver, and compassionate citizen. With programs for ages 6 weeks to 14 years, Alcuin is located across two campuses in Oak Park. The Main Campus (for ages 3 to 12) is located at 324 N Oak Park Avenue, and the Roosevelt Campus (for ages 6 weeks to 35 months and 7th and 8th grades) is located at 6942 W Roosevelt Road.
